For example, it was a common site in the far north in winter to see a Native Canadian lying in the snow early morning, or late
at night.

It was thought by European Settlers the Native Canadian drank too much liquor and fell asleep. Of course, many simply froze to death after having fallen like this.

But Achak, and his people, knew better. The frozen dead were not the fault of the frozen dead themselves, but something else, and someone else.
